Dan Harden

without comments

Here is a shot of my friend Dan Harden from Malibu Knights. The photo was taken during their band’s photo shoot a few months back. We were shooting on a sound stage, and stepped outside to grab some fresh air, and saw this intense pink sky.

Lethbridge Fire Spinners

with 4 comments

Here are a few shots published in January’s edition of Lethbridge Living magazine. This was one of the funnest shoots I did last year! The photo shoot was set up in a basement woodworking shop, which required renting the space, clearing all the flammable things, getting insurance, and a fire permit before being able to use fire. We had fire extinguishers, wet blankets, fuel, fog machines, spinning gear, a few assistants on hand for safety…. AND STILL… we had the fire department show up sirens blazing on their trucks!! We had gone through the proper precautions, but as it turns out, the shop ventilation shafts didn’t like our fog machine particles, and set off the fire alarm. Guess we know for next time!

Henotic Jason

without comments

Jason asked me last month to shoot a quick portrait of him for an article being published in Beatroute magazine. There was one catch, he had to be wearing his favorite hat! He said something along the lines of: “If people are having a bad day, I put this hat on, and it always makes them smile” Made me smile for sure! We did a few shots by the bar, and then a shot on the stage that was being prepped for that night. He loved all the goofy posed shots, but I liked this moment where I caught him with just a straight face, it was the only odd one out in the shoot.

Cydney V

without comments

There is a good chunk of Lethbridge kids out in Kelowna, and we all try to meet up when someone’s in town visiting. Cyd is a nurse in Kelowna, and luckily had some time off so she could join us on the Last Day of Labour photoshoot. First shot we found a stuffed eagle, and decided to play. Second shot Cyd couldn’t resist getting wet too!

Friday Photoshoot in Kelowna

without comments

Jeff Fero called me up last week in need of some new band promo photos. Less than seven days later I’m sleeping on his couch, enjoying the Okanagan sunshine (while it snows back home), and capturing some really cool photos for his new band “Last Day of Labour”. I wont share all the details just yet, but here is a production still of me and the guys at the end of the shoot.

Lethbridge High Level Bridge

with 8 comments

From the first time the high level bridge was lit up, I was trying desperately to get a unique perspective. It was my assumption it would be the most over photographed event in Lethbridge history.

First time around, I chartered a plane to shoot HD Video. The results weren’t the greatest, as I anticipated the lights being significantly brighter then they ended up being.

Second time around, I jumped in a car with Danny Ponomar and drove around town shooting different vantage points. Danny’s favorite was wading out into the river to catch some reflections. My favorite ended up being this shot.

Full Moon near Retlaw

This shot was taken near Retlaw, just as a full moon was rising from behind some clouds on the horizon.
