After a long day, Sabrina was cleaning out some of her old boxes she hadn’t gone through since we moved. At the bottom she found a small bag, with worry dolls inside. She told me someone gave them to her as a gift back in junior high. Before bed you are suppose to place one of your worries and dolls under your pillow for a care free nights sleep. With the ups and downs, the stressful days, and the good days, It’s all about being able to keep that positive perspective. Maybe these little dolls help throw the positive perspective back into play.

Here’s another shot from my photoshoot with Kelsey and Alex. Still working on processing all these shots out for them, but here’s one I had to throw on the blog. Lots of flare, lots of dust, and lots of reflected light.

After shooting a wedding all day, we came out of the reception, and saw the stars more clearly then I had seen them all summer!

Just woke up in a hostel room at Castle Mountain after a long day of shooting yesterday. Litisha and Rob got married in Waterton on the “Miss Waterton” boat as it cruised down towards the Montana side of the lake. We shot photos of the ceremony on the boat, in muscle cars driving up to Cameron Lake, in a Canoe, on docks, beaches, rope swings, and ended up here at Castle Mountain for the reception. Beautiful weather, beautiful wedding. Excited to share what we shot, so here are two frames I quickly processed.

Hello everyone out there on the inter-web. Thought I would throw a new post up, with what I was up to last night. I chartered a flight out of Taber to fly over the inaugural lighting of the high level bridge in Lethbridge!

I figured with this potentially being the most over photographed event in Lethbridge history, I should probably attempt to get a unique angle. So I booked a pilot last minute, and scrabbled to figure out how to shoot / film the flight. THANKS to my many photographer friends that offered lots of advice! (Leland, Warfious, Mcbain Crew, DJ Studios Crew)

With this being the first time shooting aerial photography, and it being night, it offered many challenges. Low light being the biggest, followed by vibration of the plane, wind, a window that had to be held open by my assistant photog in the back seat (who battled motion sickness like a champ!), and working with a 5dmkII at high ISO’s.  Due to the bridge being lit from the bottom, and only really highlighting the first couple of meters up the bridge in bright light my camera had to be pushed to higher ISO levels, which really sacrificed quality. I am still working on the footage / photos, to assure I can post something of decent quality.

Jason just dropped me a line, he is just near grand forks, BC. somewhere around 700kms into his trip on day seven! He has already climbed the highest elevation of his trip at 4403 feet on the “Skyway” east of Grand Forks. Kicking the kms!

I convinced him to take his Canon 5d to document some of the trip, turns out he hasn’t even taken it out of his pack yet… he said that by the end of the day he crashes pretty hard. One more update, he said his roadside tenting lost its appeal last night, and he grabbed a snazzy super 8 room. Probably needed a good shower after seven days!
