I was hired back in June by The Allied Arts Council, to shoot some photos for their local publication of ArtsBridge. The magazine cover/back cover, features my photo of a mid day exposure of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery under construction. The photo was taken with a neutral density filter that allowed me to zoom my lens during the exposure, and create the feeling of movement through the center of the buildings. The movement can be interpreted in many ways, be it literal, moving between the two buildings that were once connected, the movement and progression of the arts in Lethbridge, or the progression of the SAAG from past, present, to future. The new building I’m told will have a new structure in between the two buildings that will allow people to see all the way down 6th, through the SAAG, and into Galt Gardens.

In addition to the Cover photo, I was asked by Anine Vonkeman of the Galt Museum & Archives, to photograph several historic sites around Lethbridge for her article.  Photos included the Express Coffee Building, Old O’rileys, and the inside of the Post Office clock tower!

The cover story on the SAAG’s construction, allowed me to gain access to the interior of the building and document the renovation, as well shoot a portrait of local architect, John Savil.
